Meghan McCain Slammed By Neighbor For Calling Neighborhood A 'War Zone'

Meghan McCain called her New York City neighborhood a "war zone" amid the protests in honor of George Floyd, but it doesn't seem as if she was telling the entire truth, at least according to one of her neighbors.

"My neighborhood in Manhattan is eviscerated and looks like a war zone," McCain, 35, wrote on Twitter on Tuesday (June 2). “DeBlasio and Cuomo are an utter disgrace. This is not America. Our leaders have abandoned us and continue to let great American cities burn to the ground and be destroyed. I never could have fathomed this."

Just a few hours later, former Saturday Night Live writer Kristen Bartlett slammed The View co-host's observation, replying, "Meghan, we live in the same building, and I just walked outside. it's fine." Needless to say, the writer's tweet went viral and she took the moment to turn her followers' attention towards a link to donate to the Black Lives Matter movement. "okay, wow, this blew up. please check out my soundcloud,” she jokingly wrote.

Worldwide protests have been non-stop after the killing of George Floyd, the Black Man who saw former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin put his knee on Floyd's neck for over eight minutes until he passed out and eventually died. Since the tragic murder, Chauvin has been fired and arrested on charges of third-degree murder and manslaughter. Click here for ways on how you can help fight back against racial injustice.
