A 16 Yr Old Boy Won 3 Million Dollars In A Worldwide Fortnite Tournament!

A teenager from PA won a record-breaking $3 million over the weekend to become world champion of the game Fortnite. It is the largest prize pool in the history of e-sports, with $30 million shared amongst the winners. Kyle Giersdorf, 16, won the solo event of the competition in the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, which hosts the US Open tennis tournament.

"Words can't really explain it. I'm so happy," Giersdorf said."Everything I've done in the grind has all paid off and it's just insane."

In second place, 24-year-old Harrison "Psalm" Chang — a former professional Heroes of the Storm player — won $1.8 million. Shane "Epikwhale" Cotton took third, winning $1.2 million. He is 16 years old and from Redondo Beach, California. In fourth, Nate "Kreo" Kou, 18, from Parkland, Florida, won $1.05 million.
