Colorado Deputy Shot To Death, Two Hurt

An 11-year veteran of the force is gunned down in the line of duty on his work anniversary. 

Officials say that what began as a motor vehicle theft investigation has ended with one Colorado deputy dead and two others hospitalized after a shooting. El Paso County Sheriff's deputy Micah Flick was killed yesterday afternoon while responding to a call in Colorado Springs.

While police haven’t provided specifics, they have confirmed that the initial call lead to a chase. Once shots started flying, one bystander was injured and the only suspect was killed. Neither the suspect nor the injured officers’ names have been released – neither are the officers’ conditions.

Hot tea linked to esophageal cancer in smokers, drinkers

Drinking tea while it's too hot could increase your risk of esophageal cancer, a new study suggests.

In the study, published Monday in the Annals of Internal Medicine, drinking "hot" or "burning hot" tea was associated with a two- to fivefold increase in esophageal cancer, but only in people who also smoked or drank alcohol.

560-Million Lottery Winner Sues State Lottery Over Right To Remain Anonymous

A New Hampshire woman who won a 560-million-dollar Powerball jackpot wants the fortune, but not the hassle of the fame that comes with it. The woman, who lawyers identified as Jane Doe, is suing state lottery officials over the right to remain anonymous.

In a civil complaint, the woman's lawyers said she "deeply values her privacy" and wants to support charitable causes "far from the glare and misfortune that has often fallen upon other lottery 'winners.'?"

Ms. Doe signed the back of the lottery ticket and also wrote down her address and phone number. She says it was only after speaking with a lawyer that she realized she could have maintained her privacy if a trustee had signed the ticket instead.

Bud Light to honor Super Bowl promise, give free beer to Philadelphia

On Sunday night, Bud Light confirmed that they will be honoring their promise to give free beer to the fans in Philly now that the Eagles have “emerged victorious” over the New England Patriots.

Bud Light originally made its vow to the people of Philly back in August, after Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson remarked that he’d be supplying “beer to everybody”in the event that the Eagles win Super Bowl LI. Bud Light soon stepped in to pick up the tab, and the company has been periodically reminding fans of its commitment ever since.
