Amazon lays off hundreds of employees

Amazon is laying off hundreds of employees with the majority of the layoffs are affecting the company's Seattle headquarters, but some global teams may be affected as well. The process of notifying employees has already started, the source said.

The affected departments are more mature areas of Amazon's business, such as its online retail operations.

Uber to ban drivers from working over 12 hours straight

Uber announced yesterday that they will bran drivers from driving for more than 12 hours straight. The app will warn drivers when they have two hours, a half an hour, and 15 minutes of driving time left. After six hours of being offline, the clock will reset and drivers can once again start accepting rides.

Ford recall expands to include 33K older pickup trucks

Ford Motor on Monday warned an additional 33,000 owners of older pickup trucks in North America to stop driving them until potentially defective Takata air bag inflators can be repaired.

In January, Ford told 2,900 owners of model-year 2006 Ford Ranger trucks to stop driving immediately after a second death was linked to inflators built on the same day.
