Its National Walkout Day

Today marks the anniversary of the tragic Columbine shooting students across the country will protect against gun violence by walking out of their classrooms.

Starting at 10 am today  students will walk out of their classrooms. There are more than 2,600 registered walkouts planned, with at least one protest in every state. students will observe 13 seconds of silence in memory of the 13 people who were killed at Columbine in 1999.

Two Florida Deputies Killed In Ambush

Florida officers Sergeant Noel Ramirez and Deputy Taylor Lindsey wee killed in a random ambush while eating at a Chinese restaurant in Gainesville.

Florida Governor Rick Scott said he was “heartbroken” over the deaths in a statement that notes that he’s committed all state resources the Sheriff’s Office may need. “It is true evil for anyone to hurt a law enforcement officer,” Scott adds. “And in Florida, we have zero tolerance for violence, especially against the police."

Rodents and filth cited in FDA report on farm linked to egg recall

Earlier this month Rose Acre Farms voluntarily recalled nearly 207 million eggs produced at its Hyde County farm in North Carolina that it believed were at risk of contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. 

Now after researchers investigated it was fond that the cause of the bacteria was actually because several production employees were seen touching their faces, hair or "intergluteal cleft" (the groove between the buttocks) before touching eggs and food contact surfaces without changing their gloves or washing their hands.

FDA To Approve First Marijuana-Derived Drug?

The FDA panel has recommend approval of a medication to treat rare and severe forms of epilepsy. The medication is like a syrup and it's taken orally and it's different from medical marijuana because it doesn't contain THC – and therefore, doesn’t create a “high.” THC is the chemical that causes the most common effects of recreational weed. The FDA will officially decide in June.
